Botulax is a botulinum toxin type A product manufactured in South Korea, primarily used for cosmetic and medical purposes. Its main ingredient is highly purified botulinum toxin type A, which is commonly used to reduce wrinkles and treat various medical conditions.

Main Uses

1. Cosmetic Uses: Botulax is often used to reduce facial wrinkles, such as crow's feet and frown lines. By relaxing the muscles that cause these wrinkles, Botulax can make the skin appear smoother.

2. Medical Uses: Botulax is also used to treat muscle spasms, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), migraines, and overactive bladder.

Features

• High Purity: Botulax undergoes a strict purification process to remove impurities, ensuring high product quality.

• Effectiveness: It is highly effective in reducing wrinkles and treating various medical conditions, making it widely trusted.

How many units of Botulax per area will I need?

The initial recommended dose is 1.25-2.5U, at 0.05 mL to 0.1 mL volume at each site.

Start slowly with minimal units per treatment area. You can always perform touch-up treatments if you still have more movement than desired after first session.

Patients with stronger muscles / deeper lines will require more units.

botulax diluted

When diluted with sterile solution per instructions (5ml), each syringe holds 20 units (1ml).

When mixed/diluted Botulax is drawn into syringe for micro-injections, each marked section on syringe = 2 units.

For blepharospasm treatment, reconstituted Botulax 50/100/200 (refer to Dilution Table) should be injected using a sterile 27-30 gauge needle without electromyographic guidance. The initial recommended dose ranges from 1.25 to 2.5 units (0.05 mL to 0.1 mL volume at each site).

Several factors influence the dosage of Botulax injections

The area to be treated: Smaller areas like the forehead or between the eyebrows might need lower dosage. Larger areas like the jawline or crow’s feet might need a higher dosage

The desired outcome: A lower dosage might be enough for subtle wrinkle reduction. For more dramatic results, a higher dosage might be needed

Individual Response: People respond differently to botulinum toxin. Your doctor will consider your individual needs and medical history when determining the right dosage.

To address glabellar lines (forehead wrinkles):

Using a 30-gauge needle, inject the dissolved product into the corrugator muscles and the procerus muscle (a total of 5 areas). Inject 0.1 ml of the product in each area, with a total of 20 U being injected. When injecting into the inner corrugator supercilii muscle and the medial eyebrows, inject at least 1 cm from the edge of the eye.

During injection, the needle should be aimed at the upper center, and the injection volume should be accurate. Careful attention should be paid to NOT inject Botulax 100U into the blood vessels. To prevent Botulax 100U from being injected into the blood vessel (exudation) below the orbital ridge, place the thumb or index finger below the orbital ridge prior to injection.

The corrugator muscle and the orbicularis oculi muscle move in the middle of the forehead to make glabellar folds on the face. The procerus muscle and the depressor supercilii muscle pull the forehead downward. These muscles create frown lines or wrinkles. Because the muscle position, muscle size, and use of muscle vary from person to person, the effective dose is determined by complete observation of the patient’s ability to control the implanted surface muscles.

Choosing the Right Botulax for You.

Remember only a qualified doctor can determine the right Botulax for you. They will assess your facial anatomy, discuss your desired outcome, and consider your medical history to create a personalized treatment plan.

Important to remember:

Don’t self treat: Trying to inject Botulax yourself can cause serious complications.

Find a qualified injector: Make sure your provider is experienced and certified in botulinum toxin.

Realistic expectations: Results may vary and it may take several treatments to achieve your desired outcome.
