The pdo threads can be further divided as follows:
PDO Mono Threads: Smooth sutures helping to rejuvenated the skin through stimulating the production of collagen. This type of pdo embedding can treat any part of the face that shows signs of aging. However, it works best on the areas around your cheeks, chin, neck and eyes. Mono threads are smooth threads without barbs which are minimally invasive. They are inserted under the skin, much like scaffolding on a building, to stimulate collagen and elastin production, firming and smoothing fine lines, wrinkles on skin.
PDO Cog Threads: Containing barbs, these threads latch to the skin like small hooks providing support and lifting parts of the face. Cog threads are essentially mono threads with barbs which form a support structure that liftis the sagging tissue. The helically barbs are designed to maximize tensile and anchoring strength. Cog threads are most effective for jawline and mid-face lfting.
PDO Screw Threads: Made up of a pair of intertwined threads, screw threads restore volume to sunken skin.
PDO threading is not as effective as cosmetic surgery because it does not involve open surgery or the use of a scalpel. This is why it is primarily used with other treatments for your face, such as skin fillers or ultrasound scalpels.
